Macular degeneration is caused by deterioration of the retina and can severely impair vision. There is no cure for macular degeneration but it can be treated with vitamins, medications, and vision aids. For most people with occasional or mild dry eye symptoms, it's enough to regularly use over-the-counter eyedrops (artificial tears). If your symptoms are persistent and more serious, we have other options for you. What we do depends on what's causing your dry eyes.
